Our family was directed to Families Helping Families of Greater New Orleans through EarlySteps as an outreach for information and resources. We wanted to give our child the best that he could get, so we reached out to them to get answers we needed. We met Thuy and Steven Nguyen with FHF through Children’s Hospital when Gabe was just a baby.
It has been an amazing help for us, and our son, to be able to speak with others who have been there and done it. We take the information that we are given and speak with reps from FHF and discuss which option would be in our child’s best interest. They sit with us to help us understand any information that may seem confusing. They have helped us move through so much “red tape’ in order to get to the right hospital personnel. We continue to reach out to them when we need help understanding different changes made to the state programs, etc.
FHF has given us a tremendous amount of help in laying the foundation to help our son succeed in life. They provide an understanding of the struggles families encounter and the compassion to help see them through it. This organization has truly been a blessing to us and so many other families out there.
