The transition into adulthood is one of the most critical turns in life’s journey.  For foster children living with a disability, this period can be even more challenging.

Did you know that since 2010, SSA rules have allowed foster children to apply for SSI up to 90 days before his or her foster care eligibility ends?  Join us to learn how SSA is expanding this application window to assess whether a longer application period significantly reduces gaps in income support.

SSA will also explain benefit eligibility criteria for children and share helpful tips and best practices for filing SSI applications.
