Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Counselor to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and related supports to students with disabilities. This role plays an essential part in helping students prepare for life after high school by guiding them toward vocational success, social development, and greater independence.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and case management skills, the ability to collaborate with schools and community partners, and the flexibility to travel within the state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of students with disabilities, providing Pre-ETS and other transition-related services.
- Schedule and meet with students, school staff, and other professionals to coordinate referrals and supports.
- Attend IEP meetings to share information about Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) programs.
- Review applications for services to ensure program compliance.
- Maintain detailed case records, process intake documentation, and issue purchase authorizations.
- Assess students’ vocational and social needs while promoting interpersonal skill development and labor market awareness.
- Conduct outreach during Transition Fairs, Job/Career Fairs, and community events to promote services.
- Build and maintain an extensive network of employers, community partners, and vendors to support student success.
- Foster collaborative relationships with professionals across education, agencies, and the private sector.
- Stay knowledgeable about resources available to students and families.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience working with students or individuals with disabilities, ideally in vocational or transition planning.
- Knowledge of the IEP process and transition services.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel within Louisiana.
Peer Support Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a Peer Support Specialist to support families of students with disabilities and the professionals who serve them as they navigate public service systems, including the special education systems by offering information and referral, education and training and peer support.
Key Responsibilities
● Respond to family and caregiver requests for information and support.
● Assist families in identifying needs in education and human services.
● Educate families about their rights and responsibilities.
● Promote leadership and self-advocacy among parents.
● Provide accurate, up-to-date information and resources.
● Document all interactions in database.
● Collaborate with professionals across education, early intervention and human services.
● Build and maintain partnerships with key agencies.
● Participate in training and act as a positive brand ambassador.
Preferred Experience:
● Preferred any experience in navigating the Special Education System in public schools.
● Individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs or their family members encouraged to apply.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
● Familiarity with special education and early intervention systems.
● Understanding of Medicaid waiver services, Flexible Family Funding and related resources.
● Basic knowledge of Medicaid and Social Security systems is a plus.
● Strong organizational, documentation and communication skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google docs, email and calendars.
Education
● Minimum High school Diploma or equivalent.
